Devil May Cry Movie?

devil-may-cry-wallpapers_658_1024x768 copy

Okay, Okay. You already know that I and several other Devil May Cry fans will be unhappy about this. If you've read my previous entry about the DMC5 game, or saw my Nero's reaction to DMC5 video, you'll get the idea.

Screen Gems has purchased feature film rights to Capcom's hit video game series "Devil May Cry," with the aim of kickstarting a new genre franchise.

Kyle Ward has been hired to pen the script, which revolves around the character of Dante, who avenges his mother's murder by killing off demons.

I noticed Hollywood has a habit of destroying a beloved original series by making them into live action movies. There have been several other video games made into movies such as Tekken and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. And let's not forget the anime series made into horrible live action movies such as Dragon evolution and The Last Airbender. Those movies were easily forgettable and did not live up to their reputation. They were given bad reviews by critics and fans of the original series. Then again, there have been some good movies based on video games like Prince of Persia and Resident evil.

So, I don't expect this movie to be any good. Once again, Hollwood just want's to make big bucks on a story that already had millions of fans. But I guess it's not all Hollywoods fault. If the creators didn't sell out to Hollywoods directors, the movies couldn't even be made. But then again, it might actually turn out good, but I'm not going waist my effort to hope for the best for something like this again.

Bioshock live action movie?

Universal studios has planned to put Bioshock, the horror first-person shooter video game, on the big screen. The movie will be based off the 2007 Bioshock and was planned to be directed by directed by Gore Verbinski, who is known for directing the movies Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mexican, and The Ring.

Unfortunately, in a series of events that have happened in the past few months, the film had been put on hold for reasons such as, A: the budget being too big (they wanted to make it at a budget of $160 million dollars) and B: the director and studio disagreeing on where the movie should be shot, as Verbinski wanted to make it outside of the U.S. while Universal did not. After a series of these disagreements, Universal decided to have Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who directed the sequel 28 Weeks Later and Intacto. In doing this, they hope to make the movie have a budget around $100 million dollars and keep to their demands. Verbinski, however, will still be a producer.

As of now, it is in the production phase. So, it looks like the film is being made, and that it should, hopefully, come out in the next few years.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Childeren Complete

Most of you may know by now that Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete is a is a CGI-animated film based on the successful PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete is an extended cut of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children with 30 minutes of new footage. Some of the music has been modified to go with the new scenes. It was released on Blu-Ray on April 2009. It's defiantly on my movie wishlist, although I still have the original Final Fantasy VII Advent Childeren DVD.
