PlayStation's new handheld console displays PS3 quality graphics

I'm really excited about this! Playstation has announced their next generation handheld devicae called, PlayStation Vita. They say it's powerful enough to give you the PS3 experience. I've only seen video reviews form E3 and I'm already sold on this. The beautiful 5" OLED display touch screen is not only bigger the the PSP, but make the games look absolutely stunning and flawless. The new handheld will include not one, but two analog sticks. It also has a touch panel on the back side that can be used in gameplay. They've seen to adapted to using a screen display similar to the Ipod touch. And the line-up of games to be released for the PlayStation Vita are pretty impressive such as:

Little Big Planet
Bioshock
Little Deviants
Street Fighter X Tekken
Uncharted Golded Abyss
Killzone

Unlike the PSP version of Little Big Planet, with Vita's powerful processor, this version will feature all the levels made in the PS3 version as well as the touchscreen gameplay. It's strange because a lot of times I would wish the PSP had graphics as good as the PS3, and that now exists. The fact that Playstaion is able to put so much content from the PS3 into their new handheld version blows me away. The PlayStation Vita will be released by December 2011. So put it on your Christmas list kids!

Were fans wrong about DmC?

The official gameplay trailer of the upcoming came DmC, or Devil May Cry 5, was revealed during E3. I've been waiting to here more news about this particular game for a while now. The first trailer for DmC had fans confused, disappointed, and even enraged about the reboot of the game franchise, as well as a change of the original Dante character. In my previous blog entry, I wrote about how disappointed I was with the reboot of the Devil May Cry game franchise. And I was pretty passionate about that subject. Some would call it ranting. While most people were in the same boat with, me others had a 'let's wait and see' attitude. And I partially thought I should wait until I saw actual gameplay of it.

I'll admit, the music in the new trailer is pretty sick. They gave us more of an idea of what the plot will be about. Especially the words that read, "Their truth is a lie, their city is an illusion, do not except the world as it is". I predict the town must be some sort of brainwashing physicality or prison.

The game seems to have left several trademark fight moves we're all familiar with in the Devil May Cry such games, as gunning down demons, and sword slashing jump moves. The trailer also shows that with a spicific move, his hair changes white. That's a relief to the fans who where upset about his hair color. Like the previous DMC games, there are demons lurking in the streets. But this game is still questionable. We still don't know how the story will actually go. Although, it seems like there's a chance this game won't turn out as bad as we fans thought, but it's still to soon to say so. So for now, I'm going to stick with my opinion. Hopefully, more trailers about DMC will be released soon.

A PS3 game for Bleach? Finally!

For the first time ever, there will be a Bleach game released for the Playstation 3. Although, it’s certainly not the first game based on the popular manga and anime series. I've written about how Bleach video games where not released outside of Japan in my previous entry. So will a PS3 game be any different?

The game is called, Bleach: Soul Ignition and is expected Japan release date in 2011. There is little information reveled about this game for now. However, the screenshots show main characters Ichigo, Rukia, and Ishida in action.

I managed to find actual gameplay of the Bleach: Soul Ignition game.

Ilomilo and Little Big Planet. Similar much?

In case you haven't noticed, Video Girl Gamer has changed to Deep Space Gamer. I just like the name better and space theme.

This game is just, too. Freaking. Cute. My first thoughts when watching the preview. It was just release a few days ago on Xbox Live Arcade on January 5, 2011. It was also released for Windows Phone 7. (Darn. Not on Playstation). It's a puzzle single and multiplayer game developed by Microsoft Game Studios and SouthEnd Interactive. The graphics look astonishing, and it gives off a dreamy charming feel.

I don't know if it's too soon to be comparing this game to Little Big Plant, but the similarities are undeniable. Both being adorable, unique, puzzle games and all. The characters and layout look like they're crafted out of a cloth material.

I hear the game is short. So for me, this isn't a good reason to get an Xbox. This game seems like it was developed so that Xbox players could have something like Little Big Planet, which is only for Playstaion. Defiantly seems so. Either way I'd love to try out this game.

A new Dante for Devil May Cry 5

My first impression of one my favorite video games was "Oh. Dear God. What have they done to Dante?!" I've been waiting about a year for this game to come out and this is what they do to there fans? Don't get me wrong the game trailer looked decent but the background setting and Dante's appearance are completely different then the previous Devil May Cry series.

If you take a close look at "Dante" you see he has scars, bruises, and skin discoloration. Not a good look unless you're a zombie or emo Twilight fan (yeah, I went there). He has a United kingdom flag on one arm of his jacket. He's not really eye candy like Dante or Nero, but that's not the real issue here.

I'm not one of the fans that are upset because his hair isn't white or because he looks like a starving hobo. No, It's because Ninja Theory completely rebooted the series and changed Dante's character. Completely. This isn't Dante with a new look, this is a different guy. If Nina Theory wanted to change everything about the game except Dante's name and the demons, then they should have just made this game with a different title. The game would more likely be accepted by people if this game wasn't a reboot of DMC. I was hoping the next DMC game would tell us more about Nero's relation with Kyria.

Biased off the trailer, the new DMC game doesn't look like anything special. The new Dante was just fighting demons with some kicks and flips while destroying things. I am not amused by this. Where's the story plot? Usually, game trailers give us some idea what the game will be about. And why is he the only one we see in the trailer?

I'm actually hoping the game turns out bad so Capcom will bring back Dante or Nero. However, is this game turns out to be fantastic, I'll change my opinion.

Street Fighter X Tekken: Two classic fighting games combined together

It is exactly what it sounds like: a fighting game that pits the characters from Street Fighter against those of Tekken. A great combination of two of my favorite classic fighting games. Comic-Con Capcom and Namco teamed up for a surprising announcement. The two developers are collaborating to produce Street Fighter X Tekken. The fighters will all retain their signature moves.

Note that it is not called Street Fighter vs. Tekken. The title is pronounced Street Fighter "Cross" Tekken.

Street Fighter X Tekken is being developed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. When will it be out? Capcom says "not for a while." Namco also said it is creating its own version of the game, Tekken X Street Fighter, but details on that aren't available at this time.

Naughty Bear: Cute but vicious

When I first saw the trailer for Naughty bear, I thought Aw, what adorable bear characters. Then suddenly the bear started impaling other bears with deadly weapons. Well, that was unexpected. Although, you'd think with a title like Naughty Bear I would have expected that.

The game is set on an island where teddy bears live in harmony. The main character, Naughty Bear, is a shabby teddy bear who has a tendency to be mischievous, which earns him the dislike of the other bears. Like the other teddy bears, he does not speak but instead shows his emotions through a variety of sounds and facial expressions. His actions are influenced by an unseen narrator with a demeanor reminiscent of that of a young children's television show host.

Naughty Bear is the only bear on Perfection Island that is not invited to Daddles'es birthday party. He tries to be nice anyway and even crafted a gift for the occasion, hoping he and Daddles could become friends. When two other bears, Chubby and Giggles, saw that Naughty had a present, they laughed at him. This made Naughty sulk back to his house. He then decides to get revenge on the bears.

3D Dot Game Heroes: Looks like LegoLand

When I first saw 3D Dot Game Heroes, my fist thought were it looks as if everything is made of Legos and, the gameplay looks a lot like The Legend of Zelda. The game's gameplay is really similar to the retro 8-bit games of the past. Players move characters from screen to screen exploring dungeons, battling enemies, collecting items and solving puzzles reminiscent of the past.

The game also lets you create any character model you can imagine using the game's 3D sprite editor. You can even collect monsters to be featured in an encyclopedia which is done through beating the monster on its head with a book until its profile shows up in the encyclopedia's pages (That's pretty funny). The loading screens in the game also feature recreated box arts of classic video games using the game's 3D sprites.

3D Dot Game Heroes is an Action-adventure video game developed by Silicon Studio and published by From Software in Japan, Atlus in North America and by SouthPeak Games in Europe. The game was released in Japan on November 5, 2009, in North America on May 11, 2010 and in Europe on May 14, 2010, only for the PlayStation 3.

Bioshock live action movie?

Universal studios has planned to put Bioshock, the horror first-person shooter video game, on the big screen. The movie will be based off the 2007 Bioshock and was planned to be directed by directed by Gore Verbinski, who is known for directing the movies Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mexican, and The Ring.

Unfortunately, in a series of events that have happened in the past few months, the film had been put on hold for reasons such as, A: the budget being too big (they wanted to make it at a budget of $160 million dollars) and B: the director and studio disagreeing on where the movie should be shot, as Verbinski wanted to make it outside of the U.S. while Universal did not. After a series of these disagreements, Universal decided to have Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who directed the sequel 28 Weeks Later and Intacto. In doing this, they hope to make the movie have a budget around $100 million dollars and keep to their demands. Verbinski, however, will still be a producer.

As of now, it is in the production phase. So, it looks like the film is being made, and that it should, hopefully, come out in the next few years.

Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion on iPod

Linkin Park 8-Bit is a game formed by the imagination of Linkin Park which is available on the iPod and iPad. The theme of the game is based off of Linkin Park's favorite old school video game's such as Donkey Kong, Super Mario, and Zelda. The idea of the game is that everything used to be low resolution. Then an evil corporation brainwashed everyone into believing that high res is better, making everything glossy, shinny, and high res. But the real hear of the game is suppose to be in 8-bit or have a low res look.

In the game there's a central district, a city center, and six different neighborhoods surrounding it. Each member from the band Linkin Park live in each different district. The music featured on the Linkin Park 8-bit Rebellion is Linkin Park's music that has been transformed into an 8-bit song style, as if it has been downgraded. The characters you play as in the game are the members of the Linkin Park band. It's been said that the game will keep updating and evolving. You can get this game in the itunes app store.
