Ps2 Kingdom Hearts on my PC (Pcsx2 Emulator)

I finally got the first Kingdom Hearts game!

In one of my previous entries I talked about the Pcsx2 Emulator and how I would try it out as soon as I got the Kingdom Hearts PS2 game. Well, I got it now so like I said in that entry, I uploaded a video on Youtube to show my experience using it.

It took me a while to get the set up all right so it would play. I even went around the internet to search for help. When it didn't work at first I decide to download the newer version, Pcsx2 0.9.7. It played on that version the first time but was laggy. Later, I figured out the problem for the first version I downloaded, Pcsx2 0.9.6 and it played smother then the newer version for some reason. So in my experience:

Pcsx2 0.9.6

Pros
-plays the game smother
Cons
-When you close the game window you can't proceed

Pcsx2 0.9.7

Pros
-You can proceed when you close the game window
-I can go to and edit the "Ps2 Menu"
-video is higher resolution
Cons
-Game is laggy

The Pcsx2 0.9.7 laggyness might have something to do with the high resolution setting, but I'm not sure yet. Here's the video I uploaded:

I also leaner you can't just play the Ps2 disk directly to the emulator. Even the video shows me putting the game in the cd drive, you have to convert the game to an iso file in order for it to play. I used Magiciso.

Connecting your psp to your TV

PSP Component AV CableThis was done a while ago. I bought a PSP Component AV Cable though Amazon and tried it out on my tv and recorded the results. I did record me playing a game though. The screen size turns a bit smaller when you play a game compared to the screen when it's on the menu of your PSP.

Is the cable worth it? To me it is. I like playing games on the tv even if the screen is smaller. Though I won't do it a lot because I'll strain my eyes. This cable would really come in handy for people who want to record their gameplay.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep on my PSP

I recently got the game, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep for my PSP yesterday! I've wanted this game for a while. My first impression of the game was that the gameplay was a lot like the Final Fantasy games. I've only played another Kingdom Hearts game once or twice and it was on the PS2. There are also a lot of cutscences. Like one every minute. Well, I've only began to play the game but that's just my first impression.

Edit: This game is really fun! I've come across some challenging bosses. And I like when my favorite Disney characters appear.

How are Girl Gamers treated online?

I'm officially addicted to my PSP game, Resistance Retribution. I recently found out that you can play multiplayer online. You can even talk to people using the mic.(There's a built in mic on all PSP 3000's). Well, the first time I signed in online, I had forgotten that my name was "ElegantBeauty" until after I posted a message on the message board. My username was a dead giveaway that I was a girl. So when I started playing after I killed a guy, he got mad (which is pretty stupid). I saw him post a message on the board saying "YOU SLUT!" Yeah, some guys just can't handle being beaten by a girl. I'd be funny if it weren't so annoying.

So I changed my username and try not to speak during the game. I have a PSP 3000, and I'm not sure if the mic automatically turns on. I know I'm not alone when it comes to girl gamers. I'm sure all girl gamers experienced being harassed or treated differently at least once when they've played online. It's even worse on XBox live. (another reason why I prefer a PS3). Here's a comment I found of a female who plays on XBox Live:

"Unfortunately, there are many guys on Xbox Live who lack respect towards female gamers, whether it be as simple as doubting our abilities, or as bad as making rude sexual remarks to us. When I hear those remarks I usually ignore them and mute them. When they doubt our abilities though, it doesn’t bother me too much, because I know my abilities and it makes me feel good when the match is over and I have a higher kill spread than they do. A lot of the time, they do end up apologizing for their comments after they see me game."

I found this video showing how guys treat and talk to females on XBox live. Honestly, I found it more funny then insulting. Questions, Comments? Leave them below.

Assassins Creed on my PSP

A few days age I went to games stop and got the game, Assassins Creed Bloodlines. I was unsure if I should get this game because I've already played the PS3 version of the game and thought the PSP version wouldn't be as good. Well, I was kinda right.

In the PSP version, I notice that they left out a few things that where in the PS3 version. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed playing it, I just would deferentially prefer the PS3 game of Assassins creed, even though I don't have a PS3 (yet). Some of the things the PSP version was lacking was:

The graphics. Well, of course with any PSP game, the graphics won't be as good as the PS3. But good graphics just make the games more realistic and add intensity to the game.
There were less people in the game. If you've played the PS3 version of Assassins Creed, you noticed that the streets were filled with people. In the PSP, you'll only have at the most 5 people in a street who aren't very responsive. But I guess that's as good a PSP game can get because they don't hold as much data as a PS3.
There were a few noticeable glitches. I noticed that the background music would skip a few time when Altair (the assassin) would talk to someone. So would the voices of the people.
The detection of Altair is less sensitive. If you so much as get an inch near a person in the PS3 version, you bump into them they say something which draws attention from other people. You can brush past a crowd of people by gently pushing them. In the PSP version you can walk right into a civilian without getting any response and the gentle push is not an option.

Those are just a few things I've noticed. There may be more that I haven't. I'd say the PSP version is a good practice before you play the PS3 version, which is a bit more changeling. When I first played the PS3 game of it on my nephews PS3 I kept messing up a lot because I didn't remember the buttons.

While I was looking up the day that the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep game comes out, which is September 7th, I found out about another great PSP game coming out in November. Okay, I might be late about finding out about this but I'll announce it anyway. The
God of War: Ghost of Sparta game will be coming out for the PSP on November 2nd. By the looks of the preview, I'd say it will be just as good, maybe better then the first. Deferentially looking forward to that.

Edit: Sep. 12th
Okay, I'm not sure if this is a glitch or a malfunction in the game but the same thing keeps happening at a certain part of the game. Right after Altair gets of the boat and starts walking around the game freezes. I can't even press the home button to exit the game. Has anyone else had this problem? Because nothing like this has happened with any game I've played on my PSP.

My PSP Dissidia Final Fantasy Gamplay

Dissidia Final Fantasy
Here is a video of my gameplay from my PSP game, Dissidia Final Fantasy. I played around with the camera views to make it more interesting to look at. This is one of the only games I know of that allows you to record your actual gameplay without hacking your psp.

By the way does anyone know if I can hack my psp 3000? Does that hack exist yet? Let me know in the comments.

Edit: I realized a very easy way to record high quality gameplay footage off your psp without hacking it or having CFW (custom firm ware). I can't believe I didn't think of it before! If anyone is interested, I'll tell you how to do it in another blog entry.

Personal favorite video game music

Playing video games is very fun and enjoyable, and once in I a while I will hear a song I really like. This is my list of my favorite video game music and songs.

Final fantasy VII. The classical versions:
• Aerith's theme
• Tifa's theme
• Main theme of FF7
• Fighting
• The Final fantasy advent children metal theme of one winged angel

Dissidia Final Fantasy:
• Cosmos
• Chaos: Last battle 1,2,3- By Your Favorite Enemies
• Keeping the peace

Kingdom Hearts:
•Dearly beloved

I really like the Chaos: Last battle songs by Your Favorite Enemies. The best way I would describe them would be hauntingly beautiful.

[PSP] Sega Genesis

This is an original edited post from the website Purple Fuse [My other blog]

It's the "Sega Genesis Collection". I used to love playing sonic the old Sega Genesis system with my sisters. This game was a part of my childhood so I had to get it. It has a lot of my old favorites such as Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Vectorman, and Rastar.

[Gameplay] Dissidia Final Fantasy

Here is my gameplay from the Dissidia Final Fantasy PSP game. Firion(played by me) vs Gabranth for the first time on story mode.

PSP review Dissidia Final Fantasy

This entry is and origanal post that has been edited from Purple Fuse [my other blog]

In case you didn't know, I'm a gamer girl. I like to play video games almost anytime on my PSP 3000.

One of the games in my PSP collection is Dissidia Final Fantasy. I ordered it it on Amazon. For me Amazon is more resourceful then GameStop. At first the game was confusing because I'm not familiar with RPG games, but I soon got hang of it. This is the sort of game where you have to have quick reflexes and pay attention, it's not a button mashing game.

It's also the type of game you will never get tired of. There are so many challenges and extras on this game. It features the game story mode, quick battles, cut scenes, voice audio, and much more.

I confess, the main reason I got the game was because Johnny Young Bosch plays the voice of one of the characters. What's that? You don't know who that is? He's my favorite voice actor, I'm a big Johnny Young Bosh fan. He does the voice of Ichigo from Bleach, Lelouch from Code Geass, Nero from Devil May Cry 4, and he was the green ranger from the Power Rangers.

I also got a nice case from RenChi. It's the first thing I ordered from Hong Kong. It come in the original Japanese box.
