Another PSP game for Final Fantasy

Dissidia Final Fantasy is one of my most favorite games in my PSP game collection. So I was thrilled to hear that they are releasing another DFF game for the Playstaion Portable! It's called Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, and it's the prequel to the smash hit, Dissidia Final Fantasy.

All characters will return. In addition, five new characters have already been announced: Kain from IV, Lightning from XIII, Tifa from VII, Vaan from XII, and Laguna from VIII, all five of whom are aligned with Cosmos. Also, bundled with the first shipments of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix and The 3rd Birthday are access codes that can be used to unlock Cloud's Kingdom Hearts and Lightning's Aya Brea attire as alternate costumes.

The game is scheduled to be released in Japan in March 3rd 2011, and in Spring 2011 for the rest of the world.

By the way, I'm not even finished with Dissidia Final Fantasy yet. You have th unlock everything and complete all the story modes. That's one of the things I like about this game. There so much to do on it, so little time to finish it. Here are some of my screenshots.

Connecting your psp to your TV

PSP Component AV CableThis was done a while ago. I bought a PSP Component AV Cable though Amazon and tried it out on my tv and recorded the results. I did record me playing a game though. The screen size turns a bit smaller when you play a game compared to the screen when it's on the menu of your PSP.

Is the cable worth it? To me it is. I like playing games on the tv even if the screen is smaller. Though I won't do it a lot because I'll strain my eyes. This cable would really come in handy for people who want to record their gameplay.

For sale: Assasins Creed PSP game (SOLD)

The PSP Assassins Creed game is not as good as the on on PS3 in my opinion. So I'm selling it for $8. Simply leave your email address in the comments and I'll send you a money request through paypal. You must have a Paypal account to pay. I've already sold the game to Gamestop.

On an unrelated note, I'm really looking forward to the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 game. Not only because the original Dante will be in it, but the gameplay looks amazing and there are a lot of my favorite characters in it. I'll be honest, I only found out about this game a few months ago. If only I had a Ps3.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep on my PSP

I recently got the game, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep for my PSP yesterday! I've wanted this game for a while. My first impression of the game was that the gameplay was a lot like the Final Fantasy games. I've only played another Kingdom Hearts game once or twice and it was on the PS2. There are also a lot of cutscences. Like one every minute. Well, I've only began to play the game but that's just my first impression.

Edit: This game is really fun! I've come across some challenging bosses. And I like when my favorite Disney characters appear.

How are Girl Gamers treated online?

I'm officially addicted to my PSP game, Resistance Retribution. I recently found out that you can play multiplayer online. You can even talk to people using the mic.(There's a built in mic on all PSP 3000's). Well, the first time I signed in online, I had forgotten that my name was "ElegantBeauty" until after I posted a message on the message board. My username was a dead giveaway that I was a girl. So when I started playing after I killed a guy, he got mad (which is pretty stupid). I saw him post a message on the board saying "YOU SLUT!" Yeah, some guys just can't handle being beaten by a girl. I'd be funny if it weren't so annoying.

So I changed my username and try not to speak during the game. I have a PSP 3000, and I'm not sure if the mic automatically turns on. I know I'm not alone when it comes to girl gamers. I'm sure all girl gamers experienced being harassed or treated differently at least once when they've played online. It's even worse on XBox live. (another reason why I prefer a PS3). Here's a comment I found of a female who plays on XBox Live:

"Unfortunately, there are many guys on Xbox Live who lack respect towards female gamers, whether it be as simple as doubting our abilities, or as bad as making rude sexual remarks to us. When I hear those remarks I usually ignore them and mute them. When they doubt our abilities though, it doesn’t bother me too much, because I know my abilities and it makes me feel good when the match is over and I have a higher kill spread than they do. A lot of the time, they do end up apologizing for their comments after they see me game."

I found this video showing how guys treat and talk to females on XBox live. Honestly, I found it more funny then insulting. Questions, Comments? Leave them below.

McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure

A game Platform game created by Treasure Co. Ltd for the Sega Genesis. Based on the Mcdonalds fast food franchise and four of its corporate mascots from McDonaldland (Ronald McDonald, Hamburglar, Grimace, and Birdie the Early Bird), the game follows the adventures of Ronald McDonald in an attempt to find four pieces of a treasure map, and ultimately, the treasure to which it leads.

I actually watched all 31 minutes of this video. The guys doing the commentary made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt.

Edit: Yeah, the video's not showing for some reason...

Bleach heat the soul 7: Japanese only

Bleach Heat the soul was released this mount on September 2nd. In the five years since the game franchise began, Sony has managed to create seven games, all exclusively for the PSP. Although Bleach is a popular anime in America, Sony refuses to release an English version for the game and bring it over to America.

The reason why may be because the Bleach series doesn't have a big enough fan base for it to be released. It's not as popular as Naruto of Dragon Ball Z, which is why we see so many games of those animes. But even so I would get this game even if it is in Japanese. I'm just a big Bleach fan.

A new Dante for Devil May Cry 5

My first impression of one my favorite video games was "Oh. Dear God. What have they done to Dante?!" I've been waiting about a year for this game to come out and this is what they do to there fans? Don't get me wrong the game trailer looked decent but the background setting and Dante's appearance are completely different then the previous Devil May Cry series.

If you take a close look at "Dante" you see he has scars, bruises, and skin discoloration. Not a good look unless you're a zombie or emo Twilight fan (yeah, I went there). He has a United kingdom flag on one arm of his jacket. He's not really eye candy like Dante or Nero, but that's not the real issue here.

I'm not one of the fans that are upset because his hair isn't white or because he looks like a starving hobo. No, It's because Ninja Theory completely rebooted the series and changed Dante's character. Completely. This isn't Dante with a new look, this is a different guy. If Nina Theory wanted to change everything about the game except Dante's name and the demons, then they should have just made this game with a different title. The game would more likely be accepted by people if this game wasn't a reboot of DMC. I was hoping the next DMC game would tell us more about Nero's relation with Kyria.

Biased off the trailer, the new DMC game doesn't look like anything special. The new Dante was just fighting demons with some kicks and flips while destroying things. I am not amused by this. Where's the story plot? Usually, game trailers give us some idea what the game will be about. And why is he the only one we see in the trailer?

I'm actually hoping the game turns out bad so Capcom will bring back Dante or Nero. However, is this game turns out to be fantastic, I'll change my opinion.

Assassins Creed on my PSP

A few days age I went to games stop and got the game, Assassins Creed Bloodlines. I was unsure if I should get this game because I've already played the PS3 version of the game and thought the PSP version wouldn't be as good. Well, I was kinda right.

In the PSP version, I notice that they left out a few things that where in the PS3 version. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed playing it, I just would deferentially prefer the PS3 game of Assassins creed, even though I don't have a PS3 (yet). Some of the things the PSP version was lacking was:

The graphics. Well, of course with any PSP game, the graphics won't be as good as the PS3. But good graphics just make the games more realistic and add intensity to the game.
There were less people in the game. If you've played the PS3 version of Assassins Creed, you noticed that the streets were filled with people. In the PSP, you'll only have at the most 5 people in a street who aren't very responsive. But I guess that's as good a PSP game can get because they don't hold as much data as a PS3.
There were a few noticeable glitches. I noticed that the background music would skip a few time when Altair (the assassin) would talk to someone. So would the voices of the people.
The detection of Altair is less sensitive. If you so much as get an inch near a person in the PS3 version, you bump into them they say something which draws attention from other people. You can brush past a crowd of people by gently pushing them. In the PSP version you can walk right into a civilian without getting any response and the gentle push is not an option.

Those are just a few things I've noticed. There may be more that I haven't. I'd say the PSP version is a good practice before you play the PS3 version, which is a bit more changeling. When I first played the PS3 game of it on my nephews PS3 I kept messing up a lot because I didn't remember the buttons.

While I was looking up the day that the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep game comes out, which is September 7th, I found out about another great PSP game coming out in November. Okay, I might be late about finding out about this but I'll announce it anyway. The
God of War: Ghost of Sparta game will be coming out for the PSP on November 2nd. By the looks of the preview, I'd say it will be just as good, maybe better then the first. Deferentially looking forward to that.

Edit: Sep. 12th
Okay, I'm not sure if this is a glitch or a malfunction in the game but the same thing keeps happening at a certain part of the game. Right after Altair gets of the boat and starts walking around the game freezes. I can't even press the home button to exit the game. Has anyone else had this problem? Because nothing like this has happened with any game I've played on my PSP.

Sony PSP Android phone?

Rumors are saying that Sony Ericsson could be releasing an Android smartphone designed for handheald gaming. Gagit says it will be somewhere between the Samsung captivate phone and the PSP go.

Running Android 3.0 (aka Gingerbread), the phone's added phsyical game controller and possible PlayStation branding suggest that its killer feature will be access to the PlayStation Network's collection of original PlayStation and PSP games. Whether it will be via PSN or a special section of the Android marketplace (Engadget's sources indicate the latter) remains to be determined.

Frankly, I find this to be a cool idea. I'd be the only reason I would want to get a PSP go. Any thoughts on this? Leave a comment.

My PSP Dissidia Final Fantasy Gamplay

Dissidia Final Fantasy
Here is a video of my gameplay from my PSP game, Dissidia Final Fantasy. I played around with the camera views to make it more interesting to look at. This is one of the only games I know of that allows you to record your actual gameplay without hacking your psp.

By the way does anyone know if I can hack my psp 3000? Does that hack exist yet? Let me know in the comments.

Edit: I realized a very easy way to record high quality gameplay footage off your psp without hacking it or having CFW (custom firm ware). I can't believe I didn't think of it before! If anyone is interested, I'll tell you how to do it in another blog entry.

Street Fighter X Tekken: Two classic fighting games combined together

It is exactly what it sounds like: a fighting game that pits the characters from Street Fighter against those of Tekken. A great combination of two of my favorite classic fighting games. Comic-Con Capcom and Namco teamed up for a surprising announcement. The two developers are collaborating to produce Street Fighter X Tekken. The fighters will all retain their signature moves.

Note that it is not called Street Fighter vs. Tekken. The title is pronounced Street Fighter "Cross" Tekken.

Street Fighter X Tekken is being developed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. When will it be out? Capcom says "not for a while." Namco also said it is creating its own version of the game, Tekken X Street Fighter, but details on that aren't available at this time.

[Reopen] Final Fantasy Versus XIII Begins Voice Casting

First of let me start by saying I've decided to reopen this blog. It would seem like a waste of effort if I just closed it.

The first time I heard about this game was in 2007. I saw the game trailer and feel in love. Creator of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Tetsuya Nomura, has been busy tweeting the progress of upcoming Square Enix titles. One of the most interesting bits offers insight to the progress of Versus, and narrows down at which game shows it may appear.

"Versus has had many difficulties, and past method of production have been completely inapplicable, but these are the difficulties of birth, so we are working hard,” said Nomura. “We have a lot to announce, but because we're going in order, I can't say too much yet."

According to Andriasang, when Nomura speaks of “order” he is referring to a policy Square Enix holds in which the publisher only advertises games in the order of release.

Responding to questions about the game’s field of play, Nomura said that it will not be “completely open world.” Instead, he says it will be “like the 2D FF games in HD.” By this he means that it will look much like the over-the-shoulder, third person screenshots that have been restricted to print-only so far.

Nomura also revealed Square Enix’s upcoming voice recording schedule. The next Parasite Eve game, The 3rd Birthday, is finishing up shortly. After that, Final Fantasy Agito XIII will begin recording. Versus is just beginning the casting progress.

No dates or concrete details have been released, but this news suggests that the release of Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still a way off.

Naughty Bear: Cute but vicious

When I first saw the trailer for Naughty bear, I thought Aw, what adorable bear characters. Then suddenly the bear started impaling other bears with deadly weapons. Well, that was unexpected. Although, you'd think with a title like Naughty Bear I would have expected that.

The game is set on an island where teddy bears live in harmony. The main character, Naughty Bear, is a shabby teddy bear who has a tendency to be mischievous, which earns him the dislike of the other bears. Like the other teddy bears, he does not speak but instead shows his emotions through a variety of sounds and facial expressions. His actions are influenced by an unseen narrator with a demeanor reminiscent of that of a young children's television show host.

Naughty Bear is the only bear on Perfection Island that is not invited to Daddles'es birthday party. He tries to be nice anyway and even crafted a gift for the occasion, hoping he and Daddles could become friends. When two other bears, Chubby and Giggles, saw that Naughty had a present, they laughed at him. This made Naughty sulk back to his house. He then decides to get revenge on the bears.

Canadian man replaces his false eye with bionic camera eye

This is quite possible one of the coolest and craziest things I've ever heard of. I guess this is a step closer to people become cyborgs.

Eyeborg Phase II from eyeborg on Vimeo.

"When Canadian filmmaker Rob Spence was a kid, he would peer through the bionic eye of his Six Million Dollar Man action figure. After a shooting accident left him partially blind, he decided to create his own electronic eye. Now he calls himself Eyeborg.

Spence's bionic eye contains a battery-powered, wireless video camera. Not only can he record everything he sees just by looking around, but soon people will be able to log on to his video feed and view the world through his right eye."

3D Dot Game Heroes: Looks like LegoLand

When I first saw 3D Dot Game Heroes, my fist thought were it looks as if everything is made of Legos and, the gameplay looks a lot like The Legend of Zelda. The game's gameplay is really similar to the retro 8-bit games of the past. Players move characters from screen to screen exploring dungeons, battling enemies, collecting items and solving puzzles reminiscent of the past.

The game also lets you create any character model you can imagine using the game's 3D sprite editor. You can even collect monsters to be featured in an encyclopedia which is done through beating the monster on its head with a book until its profile shows up in the encyclopedia's pages (That's pretty funny). The loading screens in the game also feature recreated box arts of classic video games using the game's 3D sprites.

3D Dot Game Heroes is an Action-adventure video game developed by Silicon Studio and published by From Software in Japan, Atlus in North America and by SouthPeak Games in Europe. The game was released in Japan on November 5, 2009, in North America on May 11, 2010 and in Europe on May 14, 2010, only for the PlayStation 3.

Bioshock live action movie?

Universal studios has planned to put Bioshock, the horror first-person shooter video game, on the big screen. The movie will be based off the 2007 Bioshock and was planned to be directed by directed by Gore Verbinski, who is known for directing the movies Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mexican, and The Ring.

Unfortunately, in a series of events that have happened in the past few months, the film had been put on hold for reasons such as, A: the budget being too big (they wanted to make it at a budget of $160 million dollars) and B: the director and studio disagreeing on where the movie should be shot, as Verbinski wanted to make it outside of the U.S. while Universal did not. After a series of these disagreements, Universal decided to have Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who directed the sequel 28 Weeks Later and Intacto. In doing this, they hope to make the movie have a budget around $100 million dollars and keep to their demands. Verbinski, however, will still be a producer.

As of now, it is in the production phase. So, it looks like the film is being made, and that it should, hopefully, come out in the next few years.

Funny video parodoy: Half-Life Full-life Consequences: Free Man

This gets me in stitches every time. It's a story created on a sandbox PC game called Gmod.

Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion on iPod

Linkin Park 8-Bit is a game formed by the imagination of Linkin Park which is available on the iPod and iPad. The theme of the game is based off of Linkin Park's favorite old school video game's such as Donkey Kong, Super Mario, and Zelda. The idea of the game is that everything used to be low resolution. Then an evil corporation brainwashed everyone into believing that high res is better, making everything glossy, shinny, and high res. But the real hear of the game is suppose to be in 8-bit or have a low res look.

In the game there's a central district, a city center, and six different neighborhoods surrounding it. Each member from the band Linkin Park live in each different district. The music featured on the Linkin Park 8-bit Rebellion is Linkin Park's music that has been transformed into an 8-bit song style, as if it has been downgraded. The characters you play as in the game are the members of the Linkin Park band. It's been said that the game will keep updating and evolving. You can get this game in the itunes app store.

My Review: Assassin's Creed

To be an assassin you must be tactful and have no fear of death. Which was the exact oppisot way I played the game Assasin's Creed. I worried to much about messing up to just move smooth and swiftly through the game. Assasin's Creed is a historical third person action-adventure/science fiction video game. You play as Altaïr, who's goal is to carry out a series of assassinations ordered by Al Mualim, the leader of the Assassins. You must plan the attacks, strike without mercy, and fight Altaïr's way to escape.

One of the most challenging things about this game the player must be careful about Altaïr's appearance in public. Crowds react to your moves and will either help or hinder you on your quests. If noticed by the guards or the many citizens in the town, the guards may try to eliminate Altaïr. When that happens, you can either fight the guards and risk being killed, or you can try to find a place to hide. I found the game tedious sometimes, but I like a good challenge so it made it all the more enjoyable. The graphics were one of the best I've ever seen. I'd highly recommend this game to anyone.

Devil May Cry 4

Something about Devil may Cry 4 makes it one of my all time favorite games. It could be because of the action, the cut scenes, the story, the characters, or the fact that Johny Young Bosh is the voice actor of Nero. (Make that all of the above!). I've played it several time on the PS3, even though I don't own one. I'm a sucker for eye candy and I found the graphics amazing. And of course my boys Nero and Dante had something to do with that.

The Devil May Cry series focuses on the exploits of Dante, a half-demon who hunts demons to save the Human World from their attacks. In Devil May Cry 4, Nero is a lead character, marking his first appearance in the franchise. In the game, the player controls both Nero and Dante, and fights enemies in close combat using firearms, swords, and other weapons. The characters Lady and Trish from previous games in the series make appearances, along with new characters Nero, Kyrie, Credo, Gloria, and Agnus. The game is set after Devil May Cry but before Devil May Cry 2.

There have been several rumors about Capcom will be creating a Devil May cry 5. There is no official word on this yet, but I am in high hopes that the rumors are true.

Final Fantasy XIII's music theme

The Final Fantasy series reinvents itself with each new installment. Introducing vast new worlds, dynamic characters, and unparalleled storytelling. In Final Fantasy XIII, the game takes place in the fictional floating world of Cocoon, whose government, the Sanctum, is ordering a purge on people who have supposedly come into contact with those from Pulse, the feared world below. Final Fantasy XIII is available on the PS3 and Xbob360 console.

Square Enix has partnered with J Records and Syco Music's Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Leona Lewis to present her new song, "My Hands". John Yamamoto, the president of Square Enix, says, "My hands by Leona Lewis's highly anticipated album 'Eco' is a ballad that complements the powerful theme of Final Fantasy XIII. We are thrilled and honored to share with everyone the inspiring brand of Leona Lewis's soulful and captivating voice in the drama of Final Fantasy 13."

Kingdom Hearts birth by Sleep for PSP

Kingdom Hearts birth by Sleep has been announced and is will be available soon for the PSP. It is planned to be released in North America on September 7, 2010 and in Europe on September 10, 201. The game was released in Japan on January 9, 2010. I plan on getting the game when it arrives.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Childeren Complete

Most of you may know by now that Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete is a is a CGI-animated film based on the successful PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete is an extended cut of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children with 30 minutes of new footage. Some of the music has been modified to go with the new scenes. It was released on Blu-Ray on April 2009. It's defiantly on my movie wishlist, although I still have the original Final Fantasy VII Advent Childeren DVD.

[PSP] Sega Genesis

This is an original edited post from the website Purple Fuse [My other blog]

It's the "Sega Genesis Collection". I used to love playing sonic the old Sega Genesis system with my sisters. This game was a part of my childhood so I had to get it. It has a lot of my old favorites such as Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Vectorman, and Rastar.

[Gameplay] Dissidia Final Fantasy

Here is my gameplay from the Dissidia Final Fantasy PSP game. Firion(played by me) vs Gabranth for the first time on story mode.

PSP review Dissidia Final Fantasy

This entry is and origanal post that has been edited from Purple Fuse [my other blog]

In case you didn't know, I'm a gamer girl. I like to play video games almost anytime on my PSP 3000.

One of the games in my PSP collection is Dissidia Final Fantasy. I ordered it it on Amazon. For me Amazon is more resourceful then GameStop. At first the game was confusing because I'm not familiar with RPG games, but I soon got hang of it. This is the sort of game where you have to have quick reflexes and pay attention, it's not a button mashing game.

It's also the type of game you will never get tired of. There are so many challenges and extras on this game. It features the game story mode, quick battles, cut scenes, voice audio, and much more.

I confess, the main reason I got the game was because Johnny Young Bosch plays the voice of one of the characters. What's that? You don't know who that is? He's my favorite voice actor, I'm a big Johnny Young Bosh fan. He does the voice of Ichigo from Bleach, Lelouch from Code Geass, Nero from Devil May Cry 4, and he was the green ranger from the Power Rangers.

I also got a nice case from RenChi. It's the first thing I ordered from Hong Kong. It come in the original Japanese box.
