My E3 2012 game personal picks

After watching the 2012 E3 event live via my ps3, I had seen some pretty awesome previews of games that would be released in the future. I was anticipating a few particular games. I'm just going to share my personal top five picks

1) Hitman: I first heard about Hitman at the beginning of the year on Square-Enix's website but didn't think much of it. After seeing the E3 trailers about it, I was sold on the game. A devilishly handsome stoic, stone cold killer? I'm a sucker for those types. And once again, Square-Enix dose not disappoint with there detailed filled crystal clear graphics. I've never played any of the Hitman games but now is a great time to start

2) DMC: Okay, Okay, I know I criticized this game in the past. But I don't take it back. It the fans of Devil May Cry didn't complain about his persona in the very first game trailer that was released, we'd probably still have cigarette smoking, crack head looking, emo boy as Dante. The consent of the game looks interesting and it looks like they've kept the original fighting gameplay with guns and a sword like previous Devil May Cry games. Along with Dante's "I don't give a crap deal with it attitude" Looks like the reboot won't be so bad after all.

3)The Last of Us: The gameplay of this game is what drew me in. In my option gameplay that requires the player to be desecrate and stealthy just more challenging which lets me really get into the game. This seem like the type of game that will keep my eyes glued to the screen with the unexpected sneak attacks

4) Beyond Two Souls: This game stired up a lot of questions for me. What's going on? Who's that girl? Why is that happening? I'm just really anxious to find out for myself so I had to put this on my top picks. It also looks like the type of game that requires you to know the charter you play as on a personal level. Having some sort of experience while I play a game is really important to me. Being in their shoes, feeling there fears, sadness, and happiness, is what really draws me into a game.

5) Watch Dogs: The gameplay of Watch Dogs reminded me a lot of Grand Theft Auto VI. I was very impressed with the crisp and detailed graphics. There's a lot of realistic interaction with the people, scenery, and obstiticals in the game. And I like the consent of society being so reliable on technology that it's what makes the people vulnerable.

God of war: Ghost of Sparta review

When I went to Gamestop I had to choose between three games I wanted. God of War Ghost of Sparta, Dissidia Final Fantasy 012, and The Third birthday. The game I ended up getting was God of War, although I thought Dissidia Final Fantasy would be a better choice.

I should have listened to my instincts. The whole gameplay of God of war was not very entertaining for me. The game took me only 4 to beat. And I only played for about 4 hours a day. There where some extra things at the end but I didn't even feel like doing them. Just felt tedious to me. So I returned the game and exchanged it for Dissidia Final Fantasy 012.

As usual, Square-Enix never fails to amuse me with it's stunning graphics. I really like the elegant background music in it. So why did I like Dissidia better the War? Well, the gameplay will definitely be longer, as all Final fantasy games usually are. More cutsceens, more characters, more game features, and of course, the soundtrack. But it's all about preference. If I had a PS3 my decision might have been different.

Devil May Cry Movie?

devil-may-cry-wallpapers_658_1024x768 copy

Okay, Okay. You already know that I and several other Devil May Cry fans will be unhappy about this. If you've read my previous entry about the DMC5 game, or saw my Nero's reaction to DMC5 video, you'll get the idea.

Screen Gems has purchased feature film rights to Capcom's hit video game series "Devil May Cry," with the aim of kickstarting a new genre franchise.

Kyle Ward has been hired to pen the script, which revolves around the character of Dante, who avenges his mother's murder by killing off demons.

I noticed Hollywood has a habit of destroying a beloved original series by making them into live action movies. There have been several other video games made into movies such as Tekken and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. And let's not forget the anime series made into horrible live action movies such as Dragon evolution and The Last Airbender. Those movies were easily forgettable and did not live up to their reputation. They were given bad reviews by critics and fans of the original series. Then again, there have been some good movies based on video games like Prince of Persia and Resident evil.

So, I don't expect this movie to be any good. Once again, Hollwood just want's to make big bucks on a story that already had millions of fans. But I guess it's not all Hollywoods fault. If the creators didn't sell out to Hollywoods directors, the movies couldn't even be made. But then again, it might actually turn out good, but I'm not going waist my effort to hope for the best for something like this again.

Why I wouldn't chose to be a video game tester

If you love the thrill and joy you get from playing video games, beating a level, shouting in victory when you win, then you will absolutely not want to get a job in video game tester. Now you may be asking, but Sarah, if people like video games, why not get paid for it? Well first, let me tell you about a time when I first had an "opportunity" to be a video game tester.

I stumbled across an ad for getting paid to play video games a while back when I was searching the web. I recall the ad featuring pictures of people smiling and cheering with video game controllers in their hands. It also said things like, "Make make money doing what you love!" "It's easy money!" "Make thousands of dollars a month!" ext. So I sign up for it, but thought it was a little suspicious. After signing up they asked me to pay for some soft of software and manuals I will need for this job. That's when I decided not to proceed with "applying" for this job. Mainly because I was broke at the time.

Afterward I received emails everyday asking me to purchase the product to I could "start my career with my dream job". I later found out that they were not a legit company for various reasons. Which brings me to my first reason of why video game tester is a bad chose for a gamer:

Video game testing scams

There are a lot of ads on the internet that advertise about how being a being a video game tester is easy and fun. Then they ask you to pay for their supplies so they can ship it to you. If you came across and ad like that, you should know right away that it is a scam. Real jobs won't require you to pay for anything if they are going to hire you. You just have to met their qualifications. So don't be fooled.

It's not for everyone who plays video games
You will need to have the patience and willingness to do receptive tasks and looking for bugs. You must also have average to above average hand-eye coordination. They're not looking for teenagers who goof around and procrastinate when testing the games. It has to be taken seriously while being observant. You must also be a good team player and can interact with other people, take criticism, and is willing to work with members of the team if it will help to solve the problem.

It takes the fun out of playing

I think this is the most important reason of all. The job of being a video game tester will have so much repetitive testing it will must likely bore you to tears. I know I would be anyway. You'll have to play the same level in the game repeatedly looking for any problems. A video games tester often is required to play non-stop, sometimes 24 hours without a break, as a final check.

So if you really like playing video games, feeling the adrenaline rush and triumph of beating the level and don't want it to change, I advise you to not take this job. Then again, being a video game tester is a great way to gain experience in the gaming industry. If you think this is something that might interests you and you're a team player, by all means, go ahead and sign up. Just make sure it's legit.

A PS3 game for Bleach? Finally!

For the first time ever, there will be a Bleach game released for the Playstation 3. Although, it’s certainly not the first game based on the popular manga and anime series. I've written about how Bleach video games where not released outside of Japan in my previous entry. So will a PS3 game be any different?

The game is called, Bleach: Soul Ignition and is expected Japan release date in 2011. There is little information reveled about this game for now. However, the screenshots show main characters Ichigo, Rukia, and Ishida in action.

I managed to find actual gameplay of the Bleach: Soul Ignition game.

Ilomilo and Little Big Planet. Similar much?

In case you haven't noticed, Video Girl Gamer has changed to Deep Space Gamer. I just like the name better and space theme.

This game is just, too. Freaking. Cute. My first thoughts when watching the preview. It was just release a few days ago on Xbox Live Arcade on January 5, 2011. It was also released for Windows Phone 7. (Darn. Not on Playstation). It's a puzzle single and multiplayer game developed by Microsoft Game Studios and SouthEnd Interactive. The graphics look astonishing, and it gives off a dreamy charming feel.

I don't know if it's too soon to be comparing this game to Little Big Plant, but the similarities are undeniable. Both being adorable, unique, puzzle games and all. The characters and layout look like they're crafted out of a cloth material.

I hear the game is short. So for me, this isn't a good reason to get an Xbox. This game seems like it was developed so that Xbox players could have something like Little Big Planet, which is only for Playstaion. Defiantly seems so. Either way I'd love to try out this game.

Naughty Bear: Cute but vicious

When I first saw the trailer for Naughty bear, I thought Aw, what adorable bear characters. Then suddenly the bear started impaling other bears with deadly weapons. Well, that was unexpected. Although, you'd think with a title like Naughty Bear I would have expected that.

The game is set on an island where teddy bears live in harmony. The main character, Naughty Bear, is a shabby teddy bear who has a tendency to be mischievous, which earns him the dislike of the other bears. Like the other teddy bears, he does not speak but instead shows his emotions through a variety of sounds and facial expressions. His actions are influenced by an unseen narrator with a demeanor reminiscent of that of a young children's television show host.

Naughty Bear is the only bear on Perfection Island that is not invited to Daddles'es birthday party. He tries to be nice anyway and even crafted a gift for the occasion, hoping he and Daddles could become friends. When two other bears, Chubby and Giggles, saw that Naughty had a present, they laughed at him. This made Naughty sulk back to his house. He then decides to get revenge on the bears.

Devil May Cry 4

Something about Devil may Cry 4 makes it one of my all time favorite games. It could be because of the action, the cut scenes, the story, the characters, or the fact that Johny Young Bosh is the voice actor of Nero. (Make that all of the above!). I've played it several time on the PS3, even though I don't own one. I'm a sucker for eye candy and I found the graphics amazing. And of course my boys Nero and Dante had something to do with that.

The Devil May Cry series focuses on the exploits of Dante, a half-demon who hunts demons to save the Human World from their attacks. In Devil May Cry 4, Nero is a lead character, marking his first appearance in the franchise. In the game, the player controls both Nero and Dante, and fights enemies in close combat using firearms, swords, and other weapons. The characters Lady and Trish from previous games in the series make appearances, along with new characters Nero, Kyrie, Credo, Gloria, and Agnus. The game is set after Devil May Cry but before Devil May Cry 2.

There have been several rumors about Capcom will be creating a Devil May cry 5. There is no official word on this yet, but I am in high hopes that the rumors are true.
